Knoxville Horror Film Festival

Americans etc! Crazy For You just added another date to its festival tour, and will play at the Knoxville Horror Film Festival, in Knoxville, Tennessee, which runs from October 25th-27th (full schedule to follow).

The website with info is here - and you can preorder passes and/or posters, t-shirts, etc, at this link here. It's the next American date after Fantastic Fest, so hopefully will be nearer any of you who couldn't make one of the other screenings.

Fantastic Fest schedule

The schedule for Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas is now live, where Crazy For You is screening. If you're there, you will have two - count 'em, two! - chances to see it as part of the Short Fuse 2014 group:

Click here for the info page on the group of shorts. Even if you don't want to see mine, how can you not want to see Goat Witch, or He Took His Skin Off For Me??

I'm really sad to miss out on the festival, but producer extraordinaire Jen Handorf will be there, representing the short, so if you have ANY problems at all, go and tell her she's a horrible, horrible human being. Just tell her that anyway.* Hope you enjoy the short, and Fantastic Fest!

* Don't actually do this, she's lovely and brilliant and could probably beat you up.

Raindance Film Festival

Another festival update, CFY will be screening at this year's Raindance Film Festival in London, on Sunday October 5th, at 12pm.

It's part of the Shorts 18: Thrillers block, and the whole block is 108 minutes, but I'm not sure whereabouts it is in there - if you're attending, you need to book for the whole block, so you'll see it anyway. The block costs £12, if you fancy going, and it's at the Vue Piccadilly (formerly the Apollo), on Lower Regent Street.

The info page and ticket details are here - if you're coming along, I'll see you there!

Fantastic Fest ahoy!

It's up on their site now, so I can finally tell you that Crazy For You will be playing at this year's Fantastic Fest, in Austin, Texas!

All of my work has played there so far, making that and FrightFest the only two festivals that have screened all of my film work. It's a great festival, run by lovely people, and I can't wait to hear what the audiences make of this short.

I can't make it over there this time, flights are too pricey to justify, and I have a script deadline at the end of this month, but producer extraordinaire Jen Handorf will be there to represent the short, and I *think* will be doing a q&a if there is one.

Screening dates and times will be announced soon, but the short is part of a selection called Short Fuse 2014, so that's the one you should keep an eye on.

Catalina Film Festival

We're winding down the festival tour, just a few left to announce, and then after that it'll go online. But right now, here's the first of the final batch - it will screen in the Catalina Film Festival, California on Wednesday, September 24th as part of a 6:00pm block.

I can't make it over to this one, so if you're going, let me now how it is! Information and tickets are available from this link here.

Last few festivals will be announced soon - just waiting for them to give us the go ahead to make it public. Watch this space.

Screening in Orlando, Florida, in July/August

I'm attending LeakyCon, a massive convention in Orlando, Florida, from July 30th to August 3rd, and will be hosting a screening of Crazy For You while I'm there. I don't have an exact date or time yet, but if you're in the area or attending anyway, you'll be able to see it there.

My info page on the LeakyCon site is here, and I've written a longer blog post about it here. I'll update as soon as I have more details. Come see the short!

NYC Downtown Short Film Festival

New Yorkers! And New York-adjacent people! Crazy For You will screen at the NYC Downtown Short Film Festival, on Wednesday June 18th at 8pm.

Tickets for the evening are available through this link here - they're $15, and you get to see 6 shorts including mine, and can attend a cocktail reception too. In fact, each evening only costs $15, and there are 6 shorts on every night of the festival, so it's well worth going to all of it. Enjoy!

Update: I have a discount code if you want to go for only $10 instead of $15 - if you enter the code DMAC when booking your ticket, you'll get the reduced price.

Seattle International Film Festival

It's just been announced, so I'm now allowed to say that Crazy For You will screen at the Seattle International Film Festival this month!

It plays with 8 other shorts as part of the Suburban Gothic program, on Friday May 23rd, at 9.30pm. Details for Crazy For You are here, and if you want to see it you'll need a ticket for the Suburban Gothic screening here.

I'm very happy about this news, and have been wanting to blab about it since I found out. So if you're in the area, and want to see it on the big screen, please go along!

Trailer

The trailer for the short has been on the Videos page for a while, but it deserves its own post - so here it is! It's very short, obviously, and doesn't give much away, it's just a little taste of the finished thing. Feel free to embed, share, etc:

Backers - check your emails!

This is a shout out to all backers at the £40 level and above - packages are being posted out very soon! Because it's been a long time between the Sponsume campaign and the packages going out (partly the lengthy post production, partly deadline hell on my end), your address might have changed since you signed up. I've emailed you all to let me know if it has, but am posting this just in case you miss the email. So let me know! If you're not sure, email anyway - crazyforyoumovie@gmail.com

If you're one of the Groundhog Day backers, email anyway, as the cast-signed scripts will be very difficult to replace if they get lost along the way.

Poster

Crazy For You now has a shiny new poster, with the latest festival laurels on there, and a tiny bit of blood. It'll have to be updated as it travels to new festivals, but right now, they all fit on there and look really nice. Don't forget it's screening at the London Short Film Festival at 9pm, January 10th at the ICA in London - details at this link.

Obviously as a short film it doesn't need a poster in the same way as a feature film, but it's mainly for festival screenings and to have a nice image to promote it online. So here it is! You can emclicken to embiggen:
